High up above the sea, Amalfi and Positano

“In this incomprehensible place, only the sea is horizontal, and everything that is land is perpendicular”

According to legend, Positano was founded in the twelfth century after some sailors witnessed a miracle along its coast.  Since then, the city has developed vertically, along the steep slopes of cliffs dropping straight to the sea. Not far from here, one finds Amalfi, founded as a vacation spot by the Romans and later becoming one of the four marine republics. Thanks to its thousands of years of history, today it is rich in traditions and at every time of year there is something to be celebrated, from the Fall of the Comet from Mount Tabor to the election of Miss Amalfi.
